.....more than just Piano Lessons!
I have been teaching piano and theoretical subjects in the Mill Woods Community since 1995 both in my private studio and as Music Director of Mill Woods Music Ltd. (2005 – 2014). Students range in age from 5 – 75 and play purely for pleasure or follow the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum.
As a member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ARMTA Edmonton Branch) I am as concerned about my own professional development as I am with the development of my student’s pianistic skills and overall musicianship. Whatever your reason for learning to play piano, you will learn to play well and develop numerous transferrable learning skills throughout our journey together.
Some of my students have been awarded scholarships for high achievement from the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association; some have also received awards from the Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival and Contemporary Showcase Edmonton for exceptional performances.
It’s important to me that students consider themselves to be part of a community of like-minded musicians, keen to do their very best at the piano and in life as well. Whether an absolute beginner or a student who has been working with me for as many as 12 years, everyone who enters the Music With Linda studio knows that they are entering a welcoming space where music is explored with enthusiasm and motivation for personal enrichment.
